About the Designer

marek urban in his ottawa web design studio I have extensive experience in website design and development, web accessibility, and web based content management systems. Before opening my freelance web design studio I worked on the Canadian Digital Information Strategy at Library and Archives Canada.

The Strategy aims to improve access to digital information and establish a national infrastructure for the preservation of Canadian digital heritage.

I hold a Master’s degree in Information Science , a Bachelor's degree in Arts and an Honours degree in Social Science from the University of Western Ontario.

I work and live with my wife and children in Ottawa, where I enjoy meeting friends and clients for some fair-trade coffee.

I design accessible and flexible websites that meet your needs and expectations. The separation of content (the XHTML code) and presentation (the CSS styling sheets), in compliance with current W3C standards, makes the web increasingly more accessible to people with disabilities.

Web Content Management System

Content Management System (CMS) allows you to update content and manage files on your website with ease from any computer, wherever you are. At home or in the office, using intuitive administrative panel and WYSIWYG editor, you can add or take down parts of your site without having to fiddle around with the code that drives the site and its presentation.

I have concentrated only on a handful of the best, open source, content management systems such as Joomla, Drupal, TYPOlight, and WordPress.
