Polishsite: Website About Polish Culture is an information-rich website, with hundreds of original articles on various topics related to Polish culture, politics, immigration, lifestyle, cooking, and many other subjects. The website is maintained and supported by volunteers and visited daily by hundreds of people interested in finding out more about the country, its history and traditions.

Because of its size, number people involved, and the number of documents that have been accumulated over the years, the website needed a content management system that would allow the site to be updated more frequently with less work that is usually needed to update a static website. My work here involves placing the site in a database connected to a content management system, and redesigning the website to improve the user experience and its visual appeal; make it fully accessible, and by extension, more attractive to potential sponsors.

After conducting interviews with the editor in chief, I have redesigned the site to meet the expectations and information needs of visitors coming to the site. We are working now on placing the static content into a database and making a smooth transition to a dynamic website. Among the many things to keep in mind for the project of this type is redirecting static content links to new, search engine friendly, dynamic URLs.
